Highfield was a major force at the 2026 CTHS Alberta Yearling Sale, producing the sale’s top-priced yearling and showcasing the strength of its breeding and sales program at the Highfield Stock Farm.

Highfield celebrated a standout result at the 2026 CTHS Alberta Yearling Sale in Red Deer, with a Highfield-bred filly bringing $110,000, which was the highest price of the sale. Consigned by Highfield Investment Group, the daughter of Olympiad out of Buy Me a Rose attracted the day’s strongest bidding before being purchased by Newtown Anner Stud Farm. The result established the filly as the sale’s top yearling and marked a significant achievement for Highfield’s breeding program.

The result was particularly notable in a strong overall sale. A total of more than $1.1 million was spent on Alberta-bred and Alberta-raised yearlings this year, with the average and median prices both increasing from 2025. The $110,000 sale topper represented nearly 10% of the overall sales, and a new high for the event; underscoring the growing strength and interest in Alberta’s Thoroughbred market.

Highfield Makes Its Mark at the Top of the Market

The Olympiad filly wasn’t the only Highfield-connected yearling to attract significant attention.

A Vino Rosso filly out of Mizzen Beau, consigned by Highfield Stock Farm as agent sold for $31,000, ranking among the highest-priced yearlings of the sale.

Together, Highfield and Highfield-represented horses brought in $263,600 at the sale, reinforcing the Farm’s role not only as a breeding operation, but also as a trusted consignor and sales partner within the Alberta Thoroughbred industry.

A Strong Showing for Alberta Racing

The 2026 CTHS Alberta Yearling Sale demonstrated continued momentum for the provincial Thoroughbred industry. Gross sales surpassed $1.1 million, while the average price increased to approximately $15,100 and the median reached $11,750.

For Highfield, the results reflect the continued development of its investment in Thoroughbred breeding and racing in Alberta. From breeding and raising young horses at Highfield Stock Farm to preparing and presenting them at auction, the weekend’s result represents the culmination of a comprehensive approach to the Thoroughbred business.

The success at the 2026 CTHS Alberta Yearling Sale adds another significant milestone to Highfield’s growing record in Alberta Thoroughbred racing and breeding.
