Highfield’s proven stallion is leading Canada’s active sires by progeny earnings in 2026
When Tapiture arrived at Highfield Stock Farm for the 2025 breeding season, he brought with him an impressive record of success.
A son of legendary sire Tapit, Tapiture had already established himself as a proven stallion during his time at Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky, with more than $35 million in progeny earnings and 40 black-type winners from his first six crops.
Now, just two seasons into his Canadian chapter, Tapiture’s impact is becoming impossible to overlook.
As of September 15, 2026, Tapiture sits atop the Canadian standings among active sires by progeny earnings, with 220 runners, 104 winners and $4,487,409 in 2026 progeny earnings. His current earnings total is more than twice that of the second-leading active Canadian sire.
The results build on an already impressive 2025 season, when Tapiture’s progeny earned more than $7 million, placing him among Canada’s leading sires by progeny earnings.
For Highfield Stock Farm, Tapiture represents more than the addition of a proven stallion to its roster. His success is a reflection of the farm’s broader commitment to bringing world-class Thoroughbred bloodlines to Alberta and producing horses capable of competing throughout North America.
Tapiture’s own racing career included 11 graded stakes wins or placements, and his progeny have demonstrated the same combination of speed, durability and class that defined his career on the track.
His move to Highfield marked a new chapter for the stallion — and for Alberta breeders.
With Tapiture now leading Canada’s active sires by progeny earnings, that chapter is off to a remarkable start.
